Before the murder in Cuadrilla, Luis Guridi and Santiago Aguilar formed with Raul Barbe in the head office and with Flavio Labiano and Miguel Vidal for the production of an enigmatic group who produced thirty short films in Super-8, and seven on 35 mm, between 1980 and 1990.

The philosophy was always mischief.  The theoretical budgets were divided equally between pop and punk: popular genres without it mattering whether the original format was used for television, literacy, musicals or publicity… A decade of force, brevity and war of the pendantry.

1958, Martin has spent eight years in a Spanish prison after being surprised by the police in the middle of a bank robbery. When he is free once again, he travels to Havana to look for Julia who was his ideological and sentimental partner and who managed to get away from the police with the booty from the robbery.

Finding Julia eight years later is not an easy task for Martin and getting the lost money back is even more difficult. Havana is a city in full political upheaval. The time and the place are perfect for all types of gangsters, freeloaders and fortune hunters to turn up in search of a slice of the cake. The city is living through a time of hope and contradictions.

Año 1958. Martín ha pasado ocho años en una cárcel española después de ser sorprendido por la policía en pleno asalto a un banco. Cuando recupera su libertad, viaja a La Habana para buscar a Julia, que fue su compañera ideológica y sentimental y consiguió escapar de la policía con el botín de aquél atraco.

Encontrar a Julia ocho años después no es tarea fácil para Martín. Y mucho menos recuperar el dinero desaparecido. La Habana es una ciudad en plena convulsión política. El momento y el lugar son los idóneos para que todo tipo de gángsters, vividores y caza-recompensas se den cita en busca de su pedazo de tarta. La ciudad vive un tiempo de esperanza y de contradicción.

Venus is 25, sweet, romantic and not very attractive. She lives with her stoic father in a remote Northern valley. Their relationship has always been cordial, but completely devoid of even the slightest sign of affection.

 Both work in the fields and make honey. When she was 9, a boy gave Venus her first and only kiss, and the two of them swore to eternal love. She has been waiting for his return ever since.

One morning, she finds her father dead. Venus leaves home and sets out in search of her lost love. Not far from there, David, a young, magnetic and arrogant actor, waits for shooting to start on the Hollywood superproduction in which he is to star. Soon David and Venus will meet, and she will feel that her search has finally ended… although the real world is not exactly like the fairytales she read as a child.

Venus tiene 25 años, es dulce, romántica y no muy atractiva. Ella vive con su estoico padre en un aislado valle del Norte. Ambos trabajan en las tareas del campo y fabrican miel de flores. Su relación siempre ha sido cordial pero absolutamente carente de cualquier muestra de cariño.

Cuando tenía 9 años, un niño dio a Venus su primer y unico beo, y los dos se juraron amor eterno. Desde ese momento, día tras día, ella espera en vano su regreso.

Pero una mañana el padre aparece muerto y Venus abandona por fun su hogar y sale en busca del amor perdido y de sus sueños. No muy lejos de allí, David, un joven actor, magnético y arrogante, aguarda el comienzo del rodaje de la superproducción de Hollywood de la que será protagonista, “Dark Tale”. Pero la idea de empezar a ser deseado y querido por millones le tortura… porque le gusta más de lo que él quisiera. Pronto David y Venus se encontrarán y ella sentirá al fin que su búsqueda ha terminado… aunque el mundo real no es exactamente igual que los cuentos que ella leía de niña.

15 días contigo (Quince días contigo)

Isabel has just recover her freedom and there is something she knows for sure: she is not going to lose it again.

Rufo’s appearance in her live means a contradiction. On the one hand, he is an old friend that gives her company, afection an the expertise of survival. On the other hand, she has the feeling that he is not the fellow that suits her best.

Isabel acaba de recuperar su libertad, y sólo tiene una cosa clara: no piensa volver a perderla.

 La aparición en su vida de Rufo, un viejo amigo, supone una contradicción, ya que éste le proporciona la compañía, el afecto y la experiencia de saber sobrevivir, a la vez que siente que es el compañero de viaje que menos le conviene.

Cachimba

Marcos is an insignificant bank employee. Inside an ancient farm house on the point of collapse, he finds a collection of paintings of dubious artistic value. These are supposedly the work of an unknown Chilean painter who had a certain amount of success in Paris in the thirties.

Our hero, together with his girlfriend, feels that he should take on the task of making this “artistic treasure” known so as to leave new artistic wealth for the Nation as his life’s legacy.

Marcos has to go through adventures and misadventures trying to rescue his discovery as certain shady characters have a sudden interest in getting hold of the “Museum” and the “Works of Art” which took on instant value when they were unveiled by the media.

Marcos es un insignificante empleado de banco de mediana edad. En la mente de Marcos sólo existe un objetivo: conseguir acostarse sin prejuicios ni cohibiciones con su ingenua novia Hilda.

Para ello, Marcos la lleva de viaje a un balneario solitario en pleno invierno. Allí, descubrirá algo que dará sentido a su existencia. En el interior de una casa que está a punto de derrumbarse encontrará una colección de cuadros obra de un pintor chileno desconocido pero que había tenido cierto éxito en el París de los años 30.

Reinas = Queens

Sometimes life seems to join hands with fate to jointly create the most improbable coincidences. Just ask Magda, Ofelia, Helena, Nuria or Reyes, five mothers to be reckoned with, weathered in the speed of an urban, modern life, all just inches away from their respective son’s weddings, with hilarious preparations and all sorts of last-minute hitches.

All five have to hit the gas to get to the collective wedding of their respective heirs: no more no less than the first gay ceremony in the history of Spain.

A veces parece que la vida se ponga de acuerdo con el destino y juntos se dediquen a propagar las más improbables coincidencias. Que se lo pregunten a Magda (Carmen Maura), Ofelia (Betiana Blum), Helena (Mercedes Sampietro), Nuria (Verónica Forqué) o a Reyes (Marisa Paredes), cinco madres de armas tomar, curtidas en la velocidad de una vida urbana y moderna, a quienes el destino sitúa a un palmo de la boda de sus repectivos hijos, con los preparativos por montera y un montón de imprevistos.

Las cinco deberán pulsar a fondo el acelerador para acudir al matrimonio colectivo que se disponen a contraer sus herederos: ni más ni menos que la primera ceremonia gay de la historia de España. Y no existirá adversidad alguna capaz de impedir que ninguna de las cinco reinas asista a la ceremonia más importante de la vida de sus hijos.
