A street kid earns his living singing tangos in the trains in the Central Station in Buenos Aires where he meets “Pelu”, a young prostitute who also works in the station. He’s immediately taken with her and he tries to rescue her from the mafia which is exploiting her.
“El Polaquito’s” behaviour brings him up against “Rengo” (lame), leader of this mafia which, with the connivance of the station police, begins to pester him to try and get this idea out of his head and to put an end to his relationship with “Pelu”. In spite of this “El Polaquito” undertakes an indefatigable struggle against the mafia without considering the risks or consequences, trying to finally follow the path of love which he has planned on with “Pelu”.
