El Abuelo

La hora de los valientes

En noviembre de 1936, en plena Guerra Civil Española, comienza la evacuación de los cuadros del Museo del Prado. Uno de los celadores del Museo, un joven de 28 años, Manuel (Gabino Diego), encuentra abandonado en la pinacoteca un autoretrato de Goya. Ante la amenaza de las bombas, que ya empiezan a caer, Manuel escapa del museo con el autorretrato bajo su ropa, con la intención de defenderlo de los posibles daños que pudiera sufrir el cuadro. A partir de ese momento, la historia narra la lucha personal que sostienen Manuel, ayudado por una joven, Carmen (Leonor Watling) y el abuelo Melquiades (Luis Cuenca), para mantener intacta en toda su belleza, la obra de Francisco de Goya frente al mundo de horror, sangre y violencia que constituye la guerra.

Javi, Manu y Rai son amigos, comparten esa edad en la que ni se es hombre ni se es niño, en la que se habla mucho de chicas y muy poco con ellas. Comparten también la vida en el barrio y la dificultad de salir de él. Además, el tiempo en el barrio pasa despacio y en verano hay pocas cosas que hacer y demasiado tiempo libre para no ocuparlo metiéndose en líos.

Javi, Manu and Rai are friends. They are of the same age and share the fact that they are neither children or adults. They talk alot about girls but they don´t have many conversations with them. They also share the same life as they live in the same area and also they share the difficulty of not being able to go out. In addition, ther time in the area passes slowly and in the summer there is not much to do and too much spare time in which to occupy yourself.
